(A)JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a Manager – DevOps / Platform Engineering to lead and scale our on-premise and hybrid infrastructure platforms. This role requires a strong blend of technical depth, architectural thinking, and people leadership. The Manager DevOps will own platform strategy, reliability, security, and automation across private infrastructure and selective cloud environments, while building and mentoring a high-performing DevOps team. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for both delivery and direction.
(B) JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITY
Platform & Infrastructure Leadership
• Own overall on-prem and hybrid platform architecture
• Lead design, modernization, and standardization of private infrastructure
• Drive platform reliability, scalability, and resilience
• Define infrastructure roadmaps aligned with business and product goals
• Govern platform best practices, standards, and frameworks
On-Prem & Private Infrastructure (Primary)
• Oversee on-premise infrastructure (bare metal, virtualization, private cloud)
• Ownership of private Kubernetes platforms(on-prem K8s, Rancher, OpenShift, kubeadm)
• Governance of VM-based and containerized workloads
• Ownership of networking, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and storage platforms
• Lead capacity planning, HA, and DR strategies
• Ensure OS hardening, patching, compliance, and lifecycle management
• Drive automation-first operationsfor on-prem environments
DevOps, CI/CD & Automation
• Define CI/CD architecture for on-prem and hybrid deployments
• Standardize build, deployment, release, and rollback frameworks
• Drive platform automation strategy across provisioning and operations
• Improve developer experience for local, on-prem, and hybrid deployments
Hybrid & Cloud Strategy
• Define hybrid cloud strategy (on-prem + cloud)
• Govern selective cloud adoption (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Lead integration of on-prem systems with cloud services
• Optimize cost, performance, and connectivity between on-prem and cloud
Reliability, Observability & Operations
• Own observability strategy (monitoring, logging, alerting)
• Lead incident management, RCA, and preventive engineering culture
• Drive SRE practices: SLAs, SLOs, SLIs
• Ensure uptime, performance, and operational excellence
Security, Compliance & Governance
• Own platform security architecture
• Define RBAC,secrets management, and access control frameworks
• Enforce security policies across infra and CI/CD
• Ensure compliance, audit readiness, and governance standards
People, Process & Delivery Leadership
• Build, lead, and mentor DevOps / Platform teams
• Define team structure, roles, and skill development plans
• Drive hiring, onboarding, and capability building
• Establish engineering processes, documentation, and runbooks
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, IT, and Leadership teams
(C) QUALIFICATION & SKILLSET
Core Leadership & Technical Skills
• 10+ years in DevOps / Platform / Infrastructure Engineering
• Proven experience leading DevOps or Platform teams
• Strong background in on-prem infrastructure and private deployments
• Deep Linux systems expertise (RHEL / Ubuntu / CentOS)
• Virtualization platforms: VMware / KVM / Proxmox
• Containers & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes(on-prem)
• Strong networking fundamentals (L4/L7, firewalls, VLANs, DNS, load balancers)
DevOps & Automation
• Ansible / Puppet / Chef
• Infrastructure automation mindset (repeatable, documented setups)
Cloud Exposure (Good to Have)
• Experience with AWS / Azure / GCP
• Hybrid networking (VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute)
• Cloud services exposure:
